Director of Community

Christ the King Parish has been born out of the growing faith communities of the former St. Vincent de Paul, La Mission la Sainte Famille and St. Thomas More parishes.  As we move through transition we are excited to bring people to Christ, to form disciples and go out into our communities to continue the mission.

The Director of Community is an integral, permanent part of the Pastoral team, embracing the mission of the Church and our parish, and collaborating with parish ministries to help accomplish the mission of the Church.    Key to success is fostering an environment of encounter with Christ within our church and the zeal necessary to go beyond our walls to reach those who don’t know Christ.  This includes supporting the work of the liturgical committees to help foster the weekend experience; identify, raise up and develop leaders for ministries; responsibilities for the effective communication which includes the parish bulletin, website, social media, etc., facilities management and responsible ministry.

Qualifications:

  • Has a full appreciation of the New Evangelization and the Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan
  • Has a degree in Theology or related experience
  • Experience working in a parish with a particular understanding of the role of mission and evangelization in the parish context
  • Demonstrated above average written and oral communication skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize and work well in a multi task environment and as part of a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, and social media
  • The heart for servant leadership – we lead by serving others
  • Displays and maintains an active spiritual life rooted in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, committed to personal prayer, and has a passion for parish renewal

Family Faith Formation Coordinator

Christ the King Parish has been born out of the growing faith communities of the former St. Vincent de Paul, La Mission la Sainte Famille and St. Thomas More parishes.  Investment in our NEXT GENERATION of Disciples and forming those young disciples is CLEAR and is NOW!  Our children and youth are the future of our church.  Key to this mission is engaging their parents through evangelistic outreach and faith formation and providing the support needed for parents and our community to be able to pass on our faith to our children and youth.

The Family Faith Formation Coordinator is a permanent part-time role (20 hours per week) and will be located at our St. Vincent de Paul building in Dartmouth.  The role includes (but not limited to):

  • Coordination of a model of faith formation that prioritizes the family and evangelizes, forms, and supports parents as the primary teachers of the faith
  • Coordinator of the formation programs for the children and youth of our parish community
  • Recruitment and ongoing training, development and support of the volunteers required who are working with our children and youth
  • Sacramental preparation and promotion of youth programs
